INPHANTRY Brings PUMA LQD CELL Origin Shoes To Life With Interactive AR App

Experience design agency INPHANTRY recently developed an augmented reality app for global sports and apparel brand PUMA to help generate excitement around its new LQD CELL Origin shoe, which launched on April 4th.

The app brings the LQD CELL Origin AR to life by recognizing the Origin shoe to unlock filters and add special effects to their sneaker photos and videos. The Fire Filter, the first of several filters that PUMA will roll out to coincide with new colorways, lets you see your new Origins in a visual blaze of glory.

Users can also explore the shoe — and the design and technology behind it — through the exploded shoe feature and play “LQDASH,” a fast-paced AR game that challenges a user’s agility for the chance to win a pair of limited-edition shoes.

INPHANTRY leveraged machine learning and AR tracking to detect a LQD CELL versus other objects or shoes to provide a custom-built solution that was unique to PUMA. The team also developed the app’s backend to support future PUMA product launches and campaigns with AR content.
