Lab Work: Imaginary Forces Experiments with Tekashi 6ix9ine for Hit Showtime Docuseries

Emmy-winning agency Imaginary Forces created the opening title sequence and interstitials for Supervillain: The Making of Tekashi 6ix9ine, a new three-part docuseries streaming exclusively on Showtime. Exploring the concept of celebrity, the darkly humorous vignettes present Tekashi 6ix9ine as an action figure being manipulated in a lab experiment gone awry.

Led by Director Karin Fong, Imaginary Forces employed a mix of live-action, practical effects, and CG animation for the project. Using a mix of clean and modern imagery inspired by Tekashi’s signature rainbow palette, the stylized sequences are a fitting contrast to the documentary's gritty subject matter, with relentless pacing that reflects his roller coaster of life experiences.
