ROOF Studio Crafts Poignant CG Short To Raise NTM Lung Disease Awareness

Animation studio ROOF Studio (ROOF) recently partnered with ad agency AREA 23 on a CG film called “Unbreakable” for biopharmaceutical company Insmed. The charming piece is a visual metaphor of what patients experience while suffering from Nontuberculous Mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease, a condition which can be difficult to identify due to its similar symptoms with other lung conditions.

The 2.5-minute film follows the journey of Barbara the Bunny, a plush toy suffering from a cough that is expelled by a magic factory by “Quality Control.” Her quest for help leads her from one failed “cure” to another until she meets a kind toy repair shop owner who knows exactly what to do.

“Unbreakable” was crafted to create a sense of urgency for doctors and specialists to recognize and diagnose NTM.
